KCDC's affordable housing opportunities include a variety of Premier Properties
and Conventional Properties designed for families, seniors and disabled residents.
Among KCDC's Premier Properties are two family-style sites and two housing options
specifically designed for the elderly and disabled. Conventional Properties include
seven family-style developments and four sites designed for the elderly and disabled.
In addition to managing and maintaining more than 3,600 premier and conventional
rental units throughout Knoxville , KCDC also administers Section 8 housing programs.
KCDC administers the contracts for more than 2,500 privately-owned dwellings which
qualified participants rent from owners who accept federal subsidy as part of the
rent.
